Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his maiden trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after spring of that year.

Victory also signifies he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to play at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
